On January 7 local time, UN Secretary-General António Guterres met with Venezuela’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and reiterated his previously stated position regarding U.S. military operations in Venezuela. Guterres stated that the United Nations is willing to offer good-faith services such as mediation and good offices to support Venezuela in advancing a possible, inclusive national dialogue process aimed at finding a political solution.
