Five departments—including the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Municipal Housing Administration Bureau, the Municipal Finance Bureau, the Municipal Taxation Bureau, and the Municipal Housing Provident Fund Management Center—jointly issued the “Notice on Further Optimizing and Adjusting the City’s Real Estate Policies.” The notice states that the maximum housing provident fund loan amount for a depositor’s family purchasing their first home will be increased from 1.6 million yuan to 2.4 million yuan. When combined with the policy allowing an increase in the maximum loan amount for families with multiple children and for the purchase of green buildings (up to a 35% increase), the maximum housing provident fund loan amount for families in the city can reach 3.24 million yuan. The maximum loan amount for the purchase of a second home has also been raised accordingly.
