The largest ALMA image ever taken reveals the hidden chemical structure at the center of the Milky Way
According to the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an international research team involving Chinese scientists has obtained the largest-ever ALMA image using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), revealing the hidden chemical structure at the core of the Milky Way. This high-quality dataset will enable astronomers to conduct in-depth studies of the stellar life cycles in the most extreme environments near the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way.
